John N. Foy – John Foy has served as vice chairman of the board of directors and treasurer of CBL & Associates Properties Inc. since February 1999. He has served as a director and chief financial officer of the company since its initial public offering in November 1993. Until February 1999, he served as executive vice president for finance, chief financial officer and secretary of the company. Foy is currently a member of the executive committee of the CBL & Associates board of directors.
Foy has been involved in the shopping center industry since 1968 and in 1970, he became affiliated with the shopping center division of Arlen and in 1978, joined Charles B. Lebovitz in establishing CBL’s predecessor company.
Foy is a member of the advisory board of Regions Bank of Chattanooga, and is a member of the board of directors of the Electric Power Board of Chattanooga.
Foy was chairman of the board of First Fidelity Savings Bank in Crossville, Tenn. from December 1985 until April 1994. He also is former chairman of the board of directors of Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise, and a former member of the board of governors of National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts.
Foy is a 1967 graduate of the UT College of Law. He received a bachelor’s degree from Austin Peay State University in 1965.
Betty Ann Tanner - Betty Tanner is a self-employed interior designer, serving as president of Betty Ann Tanner Accessories. She is past president of the Obion County Chapter of the American Cancer Society and is co-chair of the Cancer Research and Prevention Gala in Washington, D.C. Tanner is currently working with Radiology/Mammography International in planning a breast cancer education mission to Bulgaria. Tanner is a native of Huntingdon, Tenn. and wife of U.S. Rep. John Tanner. Her brother-in-law was the victim of a homicide, and Tanner is an advocate for crime victims’ issues. She received a bachelor’s degree in interior design from UT Knoxville in 1968.
Monice Hagler Tate – Monice Tate has practiced law for more than 20 years. She is a partner with Fearnley, Califf, Martin, McDonald, Tate and Kimbrow, a regional law firm involved in commercial and residential property matters. Tate’s law practice concentration is in real estate development, zoning, construction and financing. As a former attorney for the City of Memphis, Tate provided legal counsel to the mayor and city council on various property matters.
Tate is past president of the National Bar Association and is a member of the American, Tennessee and Memphis Bar Associations and the Association for Women Attorneys. Tate currently serves on the boards of the Leadership Memphis Institute, the Law Library Commission and Wesley Housing Corporation.
She also is chairman of the City of Memphis housing financing agency; the Health, Education, Housing Facilities Board and is a member of the Hearing Panel for the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility.
Tate received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from UT Martin in 1975, a master’s degree in social work administration from the UT Health Science Center in 1978, and she graduated from the University of Memphis School of Law in 1982.
Dr. Verbie L. Prevost – Dr. Verbie Lovorn Prevost is Connor Professor of American Literature and head of the Department of English at UT Chattanooga. Her teaching and service awards include Outstanding Teacher in the College of Arts and Sciences, the UTC Outstanding Service Award, the Jane Harbaugh Award for Service, and the Graduate School Award for Outstanding Service. Her research focuses primarily on Southern writers, though she is also interested in international fiction and has led students in seminars in the Czech Republic, England, Ireland, and Australia.
Prevost is a former Faculty Senate president at UT Chattanooga and has served on numerous committees, including the UC Foundation Strategic Planning Task Committee and the University Planning Council. Prevost’s community activities include chairing the Young Southern Student Writers competition and the Conference on Southern Literature and serving on the Board of Directors of the Arts and Education Council and the Chattanooga Festival of Writers Committee.
She received a bachelor’s degree in 1964 and master’s degree in 1965, both in English and from Mississippi College, and a doctoral degree in 1974 in American Literature from the University of Mississippi. After teaching at Mississippi College and the University of Alabama, she came to UT Chattanooga in 1986.
Tyler S. Forrest – Tyler Forrest is UT Chattanooga’s Student Government Association vice president, and has served as chairman of the SGA’s Projects Committee, as SGA senator for the College of Business, and as an inaugural member of the UT Student Council. He is vice-chairman of the Student Conduct Board, president of Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma undergraduate honor societies, a Chancellor’s Ambassador, and as a member of several other University committees.
Forrest is a sophomore majoring in accounting and finance, and hopes to attend law school upon completion of his undergraduate degree. He expects to graduate in May 2010.
D. Crawford Gallimore – Crawford Gallimore is chief financial officer for The Hamilton-Ryker Company. Gallimore received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from UT Martin in 1971. In 1972, Gallimore joined Wayne McCreight in establishing The Hamilton-Ryker Company.
Gallimore is a lifetime member of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity and is a certified personnel consultant. He is chairman of the board of governors and a member of the executive committee of the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is the immediate past chairman of the board of directors for Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin, and he serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council of the College of Business Administration at the University of Tennessee, Martin.
Gallimore is a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow and is former president of the Martin Rotary Club. He is a past president of the Weakley County Chamber of Commerce and has been a director of the Martin Industrial Board and Martin Economic Development Corporation.
