I have spoken with the governor and a number of legislators about current legislation regarding reorganization of higher education. We have assembled a working group with the Tennessee Board of Regents to study our different roles, and we will work together to identify how to most efficiently address our roles, avoid redundancy and collectively fulfill the higher education needs in the state. We believe this discussion is appropriate, and we believe it is higher education, itself, that has the critical information necessary to make decisions and recommendations about structure.
