Communications Corner

Since its redesign launch in September 2008, www.tennessee.edu has received more than 500,000 visits and more than 850,000 page views.

We continue to position our System Web site as one of our primary communications tools, and based on continuously increased traffic numbers, it has been successful.

In order to create a consistent look and feel and a more user-friendly environment, we currently are in the process of redesigning and reorganizing information for several of our System sites, including human resources, strategic planning and operations, Cherokee Farm and auditing. We expect these sites to go live by the end of this summer.

We have updated the System budget Web site to reflect recent information on the state's stimulus funding and will continue to update budget information as decisions are made public. Since the budget site's launch in February 2009, it has received more than 15,600 views.

We continue to supplement our Web communications with grass-roots and street marketing efforts, press releases and internal broadcasts to UT faculty/staff. Our faculty and staff are one of our most important audiences, and it is necessary to keep them informed.
