The spring semester has ended at most campuses. Commencement ceremonies have been held in Chattanooga, Knoxville and Martin.
UTC held its commencement on May 3, and the speaker was
Renee Haugerud, managing principal and CIO of Galtere Ltd., a New York City-based $2 billion dollar commodity hedge fund organization. About 850 students graduated.
UT Martin's commencement was May 9, and Roy Heatherly, Jackson Sun president and publisher, was the speaker.
UT Knoxville held separate ceremonies for each college, and about 3,200 undergraduates participated.
The Space Institute held its Spring Graduate Reception on May 1 for 55 students receiving their master's and doctorate degrees. The guest speaker was Dr. Ed Kraft, chief technologist of Arnold Engineering Development Center.
Commencement for 614 students at the Health Science Center is May 29. The speaker will be Gary Shorb, president and CEO of Methodist Healthcare since October 2001.
